➥ Breaking It In
cw: mentions of apparent mutilation of/violence against animals and animal death

Characters are given a briefing by Reyes Amador that the kelpie encountered in the TDM prompt has likely come from Essex Bay. They know this due to triangulating disappearances and apparent marine mammal deaths. Reyes invites people to ask them questions about this mission and about ADI. Bonnie is also present to give her opinions.

Kelpies appear and attempt to kidnap characters from Gloucester. The only safe haven from the creatures if you can't fight them is ADI HQ and ADI Housing.

Kidnapped characters awaken to find the kelpies tormenting what seems to be a seal. It is not a seal, though. The kelpies cut the animal open to reveal it's a woman who's been trapped inside the sealskin. Kidnapped characters find themselves subject to the same fate. They are wrapped in sealskin and become psychically-linked selkies, hunted by the kelpies through the dark waters of Essex Bay.

Characters on the Essex Bay mission arrive to find clever seals in the water being chased by horrible crocodile horse monsters. The kelpies attempt to hunt, capture, and kill the selkies and their would-be rescuers.

Characters are tasked with fetching artifacts from a rundown portion of the Docks. The artifacts, if touched, induce 3rd-degree burns and a burning sensation across one's entire body. Additionally, characters may find themselves having to deal with some of the young punks around town who have claimed this part of the Docks for themselves and want what's in that box.

→ Canon: The Librarians → Housing: ADI, A3 → Permissions: HERE → Breaking It In - Jake was attacked in the TDM and his arm is very angry with him right now, he will likely be asking salty questions to the NPCs. He might have a bit of an Eye influence going on here trying to pry knowledge out of them. → Move the Goalposts - Jake will try to fight them and manage to see who attacked him, and recognize that it looks like the Kelpie that attacked him on the beach. Since he's getting captured I'm handwaving this prompt. *sitcom chimes indicating scene change here* → Curveball - Part A. Jake is getting selkified SO MUCH. He's also knowledgeable on legends so he'll be talking to anyone who wants to listen about selkies and kelpies whether they want to actually listen to him or not. Inb4 someone smushes a seal skin in his face to shut him up. Part B. Under the sea - sort of. Jake will be trying to figure out what's going on and how this works and complaining about how much magic sucks would you like to commiserate with him y/n. → Below the Belt - Jake will be trying to get the attention of the people on the boats or work with any of the other selkies to try to get them out of this predicament. He'll try to use morse code to communicate so if anyone knows morse code pls halp → Sticky Wicket - This is a very Librarians-esque mission so he'll definitely be up for this as well! Should be simple and easy, he's done this so many times, right? Right? Etc- Also interested in having Jake start to learn about feeding the Eye and what the cost of using magic here is. He is absolutely adamant about not using magic except sometimes he does it accidentally or finds it necessary to do it in dire situations, so this would be fun to play out.

I'd love to get a spot on your dance card for the curveball part of the program. Because Meredith doesn't know shit about selkies, kelpies, the Celtics or Wheaties, but she sure as shit knows being kidnapped.

And perhaps, just perhaps, she could be a source of eye-fear. Knowing things isn't going to reassure her here!
