For Sport - OOC
Summaries and content warnings for each prompt in the event are provided below. Please pose questions to the designated mod comment, and plot away!
The IC Event Post is located HERE.
Timeline
➥ Breaking It In: 21 July
➥ Move the Goalposts: 23-24 July
➥ Curveball: 23-24 July
➥ Below the Belt: 24 July (night)
➥ Sticky Wicket: 21 July - 5 August
➥ Breaking It In
cw: mentions of apparent mutilation of/violence against animals and animal death
Characters are given a briefing by Reyes Amador that the kelpie encountered in the TDM prompt has likely come from Essex Bay. They know this due to triangulating disappearances and apparent marine mammal deaths. Reyes invites people to ask them questions about this mission and about ADI. Bonnie is also present to give her opinions.
➥ Move the Goalposts
cw: kidnapping, violence, sadism
Kelpies appear and attempt to kidnap characters from Gloucester. The only safe haven from the creatures if you can't fight them is ADI HQ and ADI Housing.
➥ Curveball
cw: kidnapping, violence/violence and mutilation against apparent animals, sadism, body horror, transformation, potential for claustrophobia
Kidnapped characters awaken to find the kelpies tormenting what seems to be a seal. It is not a seal, though. The kelpies cut the animal open to reveal it's a woman who's been trapped inside the sealskin. Kidnapped characters find themselves subject to the same fate. They are wrapped in sealskin and become psychically-linked selkies, hunted by the kelpies through the dark waters of Essex Bay.
➥ Below the Belt
cw: violence/violence and mutilation against apparent animals, body horror, gore
Characters on the Essex Bay mission arrive to find clever seals in the water being chased by horrible crocodile horse monsters. The kelpies attempt to hunt, capture, and kill the selkies and their would-be rescuers.
➥ Sticky Wicket
cw: potential for severe burns/injury, pain
Characters are tasked with fetching artifacts from a rundown portion of the Docks. The artifacts, if touched, induce 3rd-degree burns and a burning sensation across one's entire body. Additionally, characters may find themselves having to deal with some of the young punks around town who have claimed this part of the Docks for themselves and want what's in that box.

→ Housing: ADI B2
→ Permissions: HERE
→ Breaking It In - Junior will be attending the meeting, generally keeping to himself in a corner and trying to seem as inconspicuous as possible, looking absolutely like a kid that eats his lunch in the bathroom at school. Naturally, he'll be going on the mission, but he can easily seem like he's nervous or scared based on his young age and downcast demeanor, so feel free to try and give him an (unnecessary) pep talk.
→ Move the Goalposts - Junior's one of those fancy kids who can, surprise, become incorporeal! Having a history in these kind of ventures (supernatural creatures generally notwithstanding), he'll be able to react fast to avoid being chloroformed, and from there run and fight, attempting to wound the kelpies and stop them from chasing him long before he needs to get back to the ADI. He'd realize that if this happened to him, the same thing will likely happen to others, and he'll be available to rescue anyone in danger. Or feel free to pitch in and help him if you see him running (and operating a firearm).
→ Below the Belt - Junior won't really be too sure what to do here, but he's available to do what he can to help rescue the selkies, especially if he can team up with someone who can provide some leadership and instruction. All in all, he's more of a follower, and he'll act based on a partner's wishes.
→ Sticky Wicket - Super interested in this prompt! This kind of mission, in particular, is right up Junior's alley, and given his age, he's definitely going to get badly hassled by the street punks. Hell, maybe they'll try and recruit him when they find he doesn't intimidate easily. He'll do everything in his power to keep the package out of their hands, including taking a life, if need be. I'm completely up for someone trying to protect him before they realize he's a capable field agent as well as someone to hold him back and keep him from making a huge mess out of some hoodlums.

Helping to hide the body is just the neighbourly thing to do! If she could catch that he was holding back out of guilt, she'd probably be more concerned... and if she didn't, the only thing she'd really hold back is her own powers. Shooting at the punks with a gun is probably fine.

- Move the Goalposts: Chris is going to be bringing up a suggestion for patrols after he survives a near kidnapping w/ ADI Security; security'll suggest doing it in pairs, so we could have them go around like this if you think Junior'd be interested and have them save a couple NPCs? As well as interrogate a kelpie or something, just for that sweet investigatory feel.
OR
- Below the Belt: The moment Chris finds out the selkies have innocents inside, one of his main priorities will be saving as many as he can. If Junior's more concerned with saving them, I'm kind of imagining him on one of the small stretches of land in the bay and Chris bringing selkies over? Possibly he could've opened his first one up with Junior there, even, and we can thread that first time out (after they've fought off a couple kelpies)?

I'll be throwing up a toplevel sometime today or tomorrow-- would you like me to set a closed starter up for Junior there? I could make it like they're in their apartment and Chris mentions leaving for the night for patrol and Junior volunteers to come, or go straight to being out on the assignment. Do I assume that by then Junior's already been attacked at least once?
ALSO ALSO, we can always handwave their interactions during the main kelpie mission whilst playing the patrolling stuff out. ✌ I don't mind that, either!
