Summaries and content warnings for each prompt in the event are provided below. Please pose questions to the designated mod comment, and plot away! This month, we also have a little update at the end for goings on related to Wolf Pen, WV, the site of Arc 1 finale and an attempted apocalypse ritual that ADI thwarted with the help of non-native PCs and NPCs..

➥ The Public Eye
(cw: potential body dysmorphia, loss of control, human-caused pollution, animals in distress/animal cruelty/injury to animals (specifically seabirds for one small portion of this prompt), body horror, uncanny valley)
Cameras around town are acting up, snatching people's consciousness and momentarily transporting them into the cameras to view the world through a new lens. Characters will spend around a minute in their temporary home, able to potentially see their own body twitching and trying to move around. They'll be treated to a variety of other interesting tidbits from their new vantage point, as well, either in crisp color, grainy black and white, or some variety of night vision green. These tidbits will be relevant to other prompts in this event, or may be call backs to previous events, set-up for future events, or things that relate to various NPCs that might seem suspicious. Characters will only have a very limited timeframe to view these things before they're returned to their own bodies, none the worse for wear. Even digital-based characters will find themselves snatched, seeing the object that is attached to their ghostly form instead of a body. Not every camera is snatching people and they don't even seem to be doing it consistently.

A series of huge, unpredictable ocean waves batters the coastline. Locals are forced to abandon waterfront properties, and Gloucester and the region as a whole are subjected to ongoing flooding. Characters may be recruited to storm-proof ADI headquarters and housing (for once Bonnie's Flophouse isn't flooded, thanks to recent repairs), and the civic-minded will find no end of opportunities to assist members of the community in either bracing against the flood or salvaging what they can in the wake of the waters. Those who investigate the source of the rogue waves will have the opportunity to witness an absurdly enormous sea serpent thrashing in pain off the coast as it's harassed by a mob of human-sized creatures. Of course, being near enough to see it means being near enough to the shore to be swept away by the resulting wave…

The signal creatures have a new siren noise to unleash, this one resulting in shared hallucinations. Characters will wake up in pairs, trapped within a rusted, tiny, submarine and instructed to use the sub to explore various coordinates given by taking pictures. Exploration proves the surrounding landscape is foreign and not entirely devoid of life as something enormous seems to be sharing the ocean. Though, it’s quickly made apparent whatever thrives out there is beyond abnormal, as what you explore is a body of blood, not water. Characters caught in the sub will experience a hallucinated death and wake up physically unharmed from the experience.

Katrina is leading an expedition of freedivers to investigate the deeper waters around Gloucester, particularly near the shores where flayed bodies have been washing up. Characters will be able to come along to help from the deck or go freediving with her. Characters on deck may be able to assist sea critters who have been caught in various junk and rescue imperiled freedivers who will be meeting the monsters that have been causing problems of late: mermaids. Characters on the expedition will be equipped with harpoon guns and whatever else they might request, but hauling the mermaids out of the water will be the easiest way to dispose of them. They turn into lifeless garbage once they're out of the water for very long.

Wolf Pen Update #1
Wolf Pen is a small Appalachian town in West Virginia where ADI helped to avert an apocalypse ritual that combined the efforts of avatars of the Desolation, the Dark, and the Buried. The apocalypse ritual was successfully thwarted, but the resulting collapse of FYRE, a mining company run by the Desolation avatar (a man named Carl Watts), and a mine elevator dropping several dozen people down a shaft left the citizens of Wolf Pen in significant economic and emotional turmoil. ADI has made efforts to assist the people of Wolf Pen, though. Current updates characters who are interested in the goings on there will be able to glean via reading news articles, requesting information from ADI personnel, and even reaching out to some Wolf Pen locals is as follows:

- Tech company Copernicus has stepped in to help with decommissioning the existing active mine in Wolf Pen and is pouring money into retraining those in the town in a variety of technology and renewable energy sector jobs. Copernicus is a company owned and operated by Zyrian Steel. Anyone asking around the halls of ADI HQ will be able to pick up that Nia Lehrer, Warden of ADI, put in a call to Steel to request the assistance. Either he owes her a favor, or she's putting herself on the line to provide one to him at some later date. A quick check of publicly available information will show that ADI has worked for Zyrian Steel on a few different jobs and that a significant amount of the high-end technology in ADI's underground levels has the Copernicus logo on it.
- Sheriff Ron Porter has reported that attacks by the White Things, monsters mauling people in the woods around the town, are down significantly. Ron is a local who was pulled into ADI's orbit after it was discovered he had experienced supernatural events.
- Reporter Cindy Parsons has lost their bid to become the new mayor of Wolf Pen to Andy Roebuck, a local hunting lodge owner. Cindy continues with their role as a reporter and many of their recent stories seem to be focused on the people most heavily impacted by the 'mine accident,' as it's been deemed. Their articles repeatedly point toward the involvement of an outside group called Apex Detectives, Inc., but they stop short of accusing that group of anything bad.
- Rae Hargrave has been permanently reassigned as Nia Lehrer's assistant at HQ, responsible for coordination with non-native employees. Rae is one of the field agents who assisted with ADI's efforts in Wolf Pen. This comes as a technical promotion for her.
- Reyes Amador has been demoted to working in the PR department. Reyes seems to be relieved by this change, expressing that it was a great deal of pressure. Rae may provide some reinforcement of this perspective as she seems to be unhappy, but dutiful, in her new position.
