Event OOC - Untimely and Twice Shy

Event OOC - Untimely and Twice Shy
First off, we'd like to issue a quick apology on the delay for these items. We've been waiting to see how threads played out, but in the interest of not delaying updates and polls any further, we're plowing ahead now!

Untimely - Bryn's Fate
During the Untimely event in October, Eda, Beau, and Methos were confronted with Bryn Fletcher, a baker suffering under a terrible fate. His bakery had been turned into a doughy, lonely, deathly hellscape, and Bryn was trapped there, pumping out more and more Deathbed Bread. Consuming this bread was found to have horrifying and sometimes deadly supernatural side effects. The trio were able to breakthrough the fog of terror Bryn found himself under and bring an end to Bryn's personal nightmare.

As soon as this happened, the bakery will have returned to just a normal bakery (potentially with far too many people in the back room). Bryn has been marked heavily by the Entities. He's not dead, but he's been physically and emotionally traumatized by the ordeal. ADI has taken him in for the time being and seen his bakery handed off to other employees temporarily. Bryn will be an artist for ADI's PR department while he recovers. Hopefully. Baking isn't in the cards for him for a while. Characters may see him about on occasion. He seems to be doing… about as well as one would expect from a horribly traumatized man who nearly died by way of bread hell.

Twice Shy - Pyre's Fate
Contrary to Bryn, Pyre's fate is very much up in the air. Pyre is an avatar of the Desolation who has been roaming Gloucester in search of revenge on ADI for killing his friends at the Desolation-based circus where he worked and another Desolation avatar, Carl Watts. Some IC digging has revealed that Pyre is very probably Carl Watts' son. He is the source of fires set throughout November, most particularly at the Holy Light Church, an Eye-affiliated church that characters have been investigating for a few months now. Pyre has been under the mistaken impression that the church and its congregation are affiliated with ADI after stalking more than a few PCs during their investigations into the church.

Now there is a decision to be made about Pyre. He is an avatar, one who has proved he can be dangerous… though, mainly in petty ways. He has lost all of his fellow Desolation avatars, he has been rendered into a jelly-like blob monster after the Holy Light Church congregation attacked him, and he has nothing left to lose, really. Pyre is as much a victim of the Desolation as an acolyte. ADI is aware of his presence, but they've sent PCs out to hunt him down and kill him. That is one choice. There are others. Please respond to the options below with your preferred outcome for Pyre's fate. It is one vote per character as this will be an IC decision by the PCs. We are working under the assumption that those who spoke with Pyre will be able to spread information about him and what's going on so that others may make as informed an opinion as they can. The options are as follows:

  1. PCs kill Pyre themselves.
  2. PCs give Pyre to ADI and they kill him.
  3. PCs give Pyre to ADI and try to convince them to jail and reform him. This option comes with significant potential consequences for players as this will be a hard sell. The mods will present a mini-event if this outcome is selected for players to plead their case. It is not 100% guaranteed to work.
  4. PCs hide Pyre at Bonnie's Flophouse. Bonnie will allow this and seek to hide and protect Pyre while they work to reform him.
Please vote below regarding how your character would ICly handle Pyre. Due to the delay in this, we will allow newly-apped players to vote on the idea that Pyre has been schlorping around the sewers up until this point, being a minor terror through Gloucester. Voting closes on December 16th at 1:00 PM Pacific (4:00 PM Eastern/8:00 PM GMT/9:00 PM BST/timezone converter). Voting is one vote per character.

Donna is in the Don't Murder People camp and doesn't trust ADI not to.

Frederick wants to help Pyre because he is absolutely not afraid of him, and feels pretty strongly about people turned into living monsters. Come live next door to the walking skeleton, Pyre.

Malcolm is ALL ABOUT trying to reform rather than kill avatars and also does not trust ADI not to kill him in their custody.

George believes people deserve a chance and isn't big on turning people over to authorities if something can be done.

Luka wants to actively help Pyre cause he's a doctor, plus he's an Avatar too so he wants to believe that he can be helped and can be reformed. And he really does not want to hand Pyre over to ADI because he knows it's a death sentence.

Eda would rather kill someone than turn them over to the ADI to do it, but she's in camp 'give him a chance' for now and she'd also rather that not be handled by them. Murder's still on the table if he acts up at Bonnie's, though!

None of these are good options, but Beau wants to talk to this guy before they start murdering. But he's on thin goddamn ice, especially since he'd be in her damn house.

Leo's all about talking and figuring stuff out, so even if they end up killing Pyre, he may know something interesting they can get.

Peter with very little context would settle firmly on the No Murder route. He assumes with time everyone can be redeemed even if they fucked up.

She's going to regret this, but she can't bring herself to just murder the guy without trying to save him.

She doesn't know this guy, she's not going to vote him dead, not for burning things. She's burnt some things, it happens. Besides, anyone can be better if they try.

NOT RELEVANT FOR RESULTS ANY MORE but this is absolutely the route that Neal supports. He doesn't trust ADI and has too much empathy for this guy's situation to hand him over, and doesn't have the stomach to kill him. His mantra is "there's always another way," and this is the way he'd support.
