player plot: the monstering

Hey you know how ADI says "don't use your powers a lot otherwise there'll be big problems?" Here's why.

Near the end of the month, Cornelius Hickey is going to go full tilt Hunt avatar. Getting drunk off his power, he's going to make a series of real bad decisions. He's going to embrace his new Hunt perks (a monster form) and just go hogwild, traumatizing hikers, backpackers, dumb kids who do Scooby Doo shit in the middle of the woods, fellow PCs, etc. Obviously this won't do, so time to rally the troops and put Hickey down.

What characters can do:

• Monsterbear fight!!! Who wants some pvp? You've got free reign to fuck him up REAL good, so time to use those bonkers character powers you haven't gotten the chance to use yet.


• Confront Hickey about his poor choices. Buddy, you really don't want to do this.


• Find a way to make things worse for shits and giggles.

I'm gonna put up a starter on the event log for this later this week. It'll end with Hickey skulking off into Dogtown to lick his wounds, keep out of sight, and continue to be a background menace (mechanically speaking, he's getting dropped).

Cortana is a fucking idiot sometimes and has no clue how close to being a monster Hickey is, so this will be a shock to her and she might try a variant of option B (Yell his ear off about his poor choices).

The best part: if he tries to maul her in retaliation she can probably match him well enough in strength and ferocity (she's at the absolute limit for humans and the record for like, lifting for humans is like, half a ton, also her skeleton is steel, and she basically always ready to throw down in canon) that they'll both come out worse for wear!

Oooh, just had an idea: He tries to scare/attack her, she punches the shit out of him, finds out it's him, starts yelling?

What if Avatar kaiju battle? I can offer a monsterjohn who has a cat-like beasty form for a fight, or maybe John trying to talk him down at first (or maybe ends up being encouraging rip) that ends in a monster battle.

Also John occasionally goes around scaring and feeding off of the occasional person here and there so it could also be a food fight lmao

Hickey's monsterform is gonna be bear-themed because someone still has issues regarding the monster bear in canon. so ABSOLUTELY time to have a hunt vs. hunt battle (all the other entities like 'wow they pick the morons')
