Welcome to Apocalypse How!
You've made it to Gloucester, and you're probably in one piece! Mostly... This is our OOC Intro post, a place for new players to introduce themselves, get to know one another's characters and find see who and what and when might click.

Does Character Have Powers/Cursed Items: Yes! She has minor shapeshifting abilities and the inherent skill to transfer energy - she's not trained in that one though. She's also waaay stronger than her physical form would suggest, but she doesn't need to feed a fear to use that.

Information: Romelle has lived her entire life in a secluded biodome. She and her people are the last survivors of a genocide that began with the destruction of their home planet. The son of the evil Emperor and perpetrator of that genocide has secretly collected these survivors and 'protects' them in the colony - unfortunately, he's also consistently picking out some of their number to harvest their life energy and kill them in the process.
Romelle is the sole skeptic of that colony. Where everyone she knows worships their savior, Romelle has questions - even if that means becoming isolated from her peers. After her brother's death at Lotor's hands, her suspicions are now certainty... but what can she do? She's suddenly at ADI!
Aside from being a suspicious person by nature, Romelle is a pretty sweet girl. She is excitable and curious and wants to learn all she can about the world she has never seen. Though she has a bit of a vengeful streak as a result of her rage against the system that raised her, she's overall amiable and a hopeless romantic, too.
Plotting: Anything and everything!! But especially...

-Fellow cult survivors? Cult associated characters? Just people who have experience with unquestioned worship of a savior figure?

Introduction: WHAT UP fellas hello I'm Em, Taurus, 29, data analyst/project manager for the day job. Aside from RP you can catch me modding Skyrim or playing League. 90% of my plurks are just RP chatter & memes, with the occasional live-plurk of something if I'm hype about watching it.

Does Character Have Powers/Cursed Items: Yep! Lemme slap da bass real quick here:
Jack's weird! For all intents and purposes, Jack doesn't sleep. Like, he's incapable of being knocked out. No magic, no surgery anesthesia, no cosmic deities, nothing's able to really put this guy fully under. He's also immune to having his memories wiped, and it's probably related? Something something long term short term I don't know how cognitive function works.
His non-sleeping issue is actually the product of a degenerative brain thing he believes to be terminal, which causes him to have black-outs, lost time, lost memories, confusion, disorientation, and most importantly: hallucinations. That one matters the most because sometimes those hallucinations manifest into reality. It's rare, it won't come into play that often, but he'll be entering the game with a cursed item that's a product of this.
He's carrying it in a cooler. It's gross. You probably don't want to know what it is. He's going to talk to it, and if your character is psychic or otherwise in tune with the supernatural, feel free to hear it talking back! His name is Jerry, and he can kind of sort of Tell things about things. Where those car keys are, how many guns a dude has on him, whether or not somebody's the literal devil. That kind of thing. I'll check your permissions post or hit you up before he observes anything!

Information: So this canon's actually super neat! It started out as a series of posts on r/nosleep that got wicked popular, so the guy turned them into official novels. The novels are good, but dude, the audiobooks voiced by Mr CreepyPasta will blow you away. I've got the first one uploaded here if anyone tryna scope it.
It's a horror-comedy about a gas station located on top of basically a cosmic leyline, where weird shit tends to just sort of fall through. Jack's the main attendant at the gas station, and he's gotten progressively more desensitized to all the weird stuff that happens. Except as the novels get rolling, things get really... extra-dimensional... trippy... multiversal insane. Ya boi seen some shit. Also, there's an apocalypse.
The novels are actually told in the style of a blog post, basically they're all Jack writing about his life, chronicling the events that unfold to a modest following of readers. He might do something of the sort network style here if I find a good way to work it in.
Plotting: Just tryina get that foot in the door first! Get him some solid bro cr established, preferably someone who can moderately tolerate him enough to trust that he knows the difference between his crazy tendencies and actual insane reality.

Harry also has a lot of brain anomalies manifesting as voices in his head. Even in his canon there are people who don't sleep due to a specific type of radiation sickness so if that ever comes out he'd be pretty interested in it.

Introduction: I'm Yvie, NB, I live with my fiancée and a couple pets, and I'm mostly a tabletop RPG GM. I also do some hand sewing projects and play a lot of The Sims 4. My fandoms are all across the board but include Magnus Archives and Rusty Quill Gaming, true crime podcasts, pretty much any creepypasta, Why Women Kill and various other video games, movies, shows etc.
Availability: I live in EST and tend to tag later on in the evening. I am slow to medium pace depending on the threads, and love a good boomerang session though I will backtag for a month or two.
Extra: I'm happy to keep TDM threads as canon! I'm okay to handwave them and start a new interaction or keep going on them.

Does Character Have Powers/Cursed Items: Yes - she is a witch/Gifted and can do some marginal magic by using a Ritual of knotting and twisting string around her fingers (or doing the movements of it, though that's much less reliable). She hasn't trained her abilities much, so she can mostly only do little stuff, though she has an Affinity for healing magic that saps the life out of nearby living things. So that's lovely and she almost never does it.

Permissions: HERE; Please note that her history has some discussion of survival cannibalism, please please fill out the opt-out if that bothers you! I can easily play her without bringing it up (she's almost completely not guilty or traumatized about it), or you can opt-out altogether.
Information: Abby is your typical urban fantasy type character, I guess? She lives in a world where some people can do magic, are called Gifted, and basically everyone knows about it. If you know much about Jeff Calhoun's world (an OC here as well), they come from the same one.
Personality-wise, she's very practical and has a dry sense of humor, she can be pretty sarcastic, and she's just really not super great with emotions. She has a hard time expressing and explaining what she's feeling and can be a little flat because of that, though there is a lot going on under the surface and she's not exactly intimidated by or afraid of her own emotions. A lot of times she tends to brush off what she's feeling or the terrible things that have happened in her life with inappropriate jokes that might not even seem like jokes at first because she's so dry.

Plotting: I don't have any specific plans just yet besides getting her some connections! I really enjoyed her TDM threads and would be excited to do something new with those people as well as figuring out some new stuff to do with new people!
She actually finds all the weird supernatural stuff pretty interesting, like a real life ghost hunter show or something. She does not yet realize the true horror that she's signed up for.

He's loud and brash but every time he calls you a fuckhead it's because he loves you. Hostile affection is his game.
Plotting: Anybody who's scared of rats and needs a startle, I'd absolutely love for him to give a few spooks out, even if it's startling to the point of injury for Kug. The more people think he's gross, the better. On the other hand: anyone who seems cool with a two foot tall weird rat guy, come here. Always looking for other people from New York to commiserate and talks hit with.

Introduction: I had a brain freeze moment of thinking "who are you is such an existential question," but then I got over it, and realized that summarizes me pretty well. That is to say, I am randomly distracted by things and prone to diving down rabbit holes or getting hung up on singular details at times. Not that I'm existential. What I'm into varies from week to week, though I have a newly-discovered love of tabletop and a rediscovered love of video games. As mentioned above, my work hours tend to be wacko so I stuff things into every nook and cranny I can find, metaphorically speaking. Fandoms at the moment are Prodigal Son, Justified, White Collar, Doom Patrol (just started that one), uhhh... others that I don't recall. Hobby-wise I am obsessed with office supplies, in that I spend entirely too much time buying and testing pens on my bullet journal. Also history, scifi and fantasy, writing, fitness stuff (working on Getting There), and sociology.
Availability: In EST! I fit things in whenever I can, and my work also varies in intensity. One day I could be busy from stepping out the door to getting home, the next I could be twiddling my thumbs. That largely influences when/how I tag. I boomerang happily and also backtag for a decent amount of time until timelines get tricky to handle.

Information: Gil is the dad who never had kids, in that he tends to adopt the people around him. His Most Adopted Child is Malcolm Bright, who he helped raise. He's extremely protective of the people he cares about, but at the same time trusts the ones who've proven themselves competent in dangerous situations. Insightful, gentle, and a counselor to others, he'll let appropriate pieces of himself show when he's trying to relate or comfort. He's fairly private, beyond that. Malcolm at one point refers to him as an alpha male, and he's not wrong, but he's also not the kind of alpha male who feels the need to prove anything. He is 59 okay he's too old for that shit.
Plotting: I would love to get up to some hijinks!! Gil is seeing the first consequences of his attempts to make connections in town, so he's going to be stepping back and reassessing his plans moving forward. I would love to have him add more people to his passel of adoptees, and now that I'm coming out of a busy period at work, I'd love to have him dig into more investigatey-type-things, given that he's, y'know, a detective and inherently curious person.

Information: In a general way, Neal is/was a brilliant criminal and con man with an art and history obsession, who got caught for bond forgery after practically walking himself into a trap knowing it was one. Blah blah blah, he ends up working for the FBI as a kind of work-release, kept to a two-mile area around his apartment unless they're on a case, that two miles monitored by a tracking anklet. Post-series Neal is... tired. He's recovering from a lot that happened over a very short period. Possible release from his sentence, which was thwarted by an FBI agent determined to coopt Neal's skills for his own (very long term) use, then the presumed reinstitution of the full sentence from the fallout of that because otherwise the show timeline makes no sense, the appearance of his long-lost dad, the betrayal of his long-lost dad, being blackmailed back into a life of crime to save his best friend, falling in love, finding out said love was manipulating him from the start, having his release denied again and being told up-front that he's too valuable of a resource for the FBI to let him go, signing onto a Very Dangerous Sting in exchange for a signed contract guaranteeing his freedom, realizing during his time undercover that if this is successful no one he loves will ever be safe again, and then faking his own death and running off to Paris.
He's been like. Kinda busy.
There is a lot of unprocessed trauma going on in there. The woman who raised him was murdered shortly before his father's reappearance, and the woman he fell in love with committed suicide by cop rather than going back to prison for previous crimes. Throw all the other stuff on stop of it, and he's repressing hardcore. Right now he's a smile and flourish and a shallow exchange, trying to keep himself to himself, with an edge of that tiredness peeking through every now and again.
Plotting: Well the first thing Neal is going to do is get some nicer clothes than what's on offer, because dear God. This will very likely involve pickpocketing tourists or outright stealing shit, oops. Given that he's never been apprehended for theft, he's pretty damn good at it, but I'm not averse to him being caught in the act because uh, every PC here almost is pretty extraordinary at something. Neal is going to be putting out feelers to see if anyone he knows exists in this version of the world, which I'm going to ask the mods about, so that's a TBD. This boy is always down for hijinks, though, and one of the things he'll probably be trying to do is uh... breaking into the ADI areas that they are less... allowed to access. Though that's a long-term plan that I'm also going to ping the mods about! In general, I'd love to start building CR that will be able to peel back the layers of smooth, smiling Neal to show that there's actually a person in there.

Information: Emily will appear on first glance as a standard, ordinary human, and she will take measures to keep it that way. What she's cloaking is that ADI's plucked her out of a neverending death game, where she's been for an untold amount of time being hunted down and being killed or escaping but always returning back to the start. It's left her with a resilience to the idea of dying, and also a somewhat skewed perspective on risk. But she'll sweep all that under the rug and instead make the best of her second chance on life here.
Personality wise, she's quite warm, very friendly, and more of a caretaker than anything else. Modest, practical, and somewhat unobtrusive, Emily is willing to give everyone at least one chance - though there's no promise that in her head she's not keeping up a running commentary on things. She's also decent at wrangling different types of people to work together, and in general prefers teamwork over going at things solo. With ADI, she'll want to put her best face forward in order to do her best for the overarching mission - after all, they're all living in this world, why not save it?
Plotting: Apart from getting settled in, I do want Emily to gravitate towards her natural habitat, which will be joining up with the medical side of things and in general acting as support when it comes to missions. As a trained physician and surgeon, it'll be a more familiar domain for her to slide into. She'll also be eager to catch up to everything she's missed, and is a good listener, as well as easy to talk into helping with this or that. CR wise, I have no preference - I'm open across the board.

Introduction: Hello! This is my first time here, but not my first jam jar. I'm a 24yo nonbinary trans man living in south Georgia (US), and my main interests are art, music, roleplay/stories, horror, mystery, and nature! My primary fandoms are Guild Wars 2 and Warriors (yes, the cat books), but werewolves are a huge fixation of mine and I am a TMA fan. Danny here is from a personal writing project I've been slowly chipping away at for the past couple years, and I'm excited to have him in action!

Information: Danny is a hapless young protagonist who's very scared all of the time, a little bit angry, and also a werewolf who was turned by angry ghosts! He's very baby but trying very hard to be the hero. His wolf brain is no longer a wolf brain, but he doesn't know that...yet.
Plotting: I'm mostly just excited to see him tangled up in everything, but if anyone wants to either entice him into some ill-advised adventuring or actually get some help from him I'm super down for it!! Also wide open on CR stuff, though I'm probably gonna prioritize characters with similar temperaments to his own who also don't trust the ADI and are maybe a little too oblivious to the dangers the Entities pose.
Oh, and I absolutely hope for him to get gobbled up by the Hunt. I love monsters way too much not to go for that.
