➥ For You Never Shut Your Eye: 15-24 October
➥ Till the Sun Is In the Sky: 25-28 October
➥ When the Blazing Sun Is Gone: 28-31 October
➥ When He Nothing Shines Upon: 31 October
➥ For You Never Shut Your Eye
(cw: supernaturally-induced sleep/fatigue, supernaturally-induced sleep disorders/somniloquy, needles/injections)
The mysterious music and its somnolent effects are growing more prevalent and persistent throughout Gloucester, with people sleeping far too much while never feeling like it's enough. ADI staff are increasingly intent on finding the source of the music as well as inventing methods to block the effects. Characters will find themselves conscripted (between Halloween Party preparations) into assisting with building and testing anti-music and sleep devices, and/or helping to try to track down the sources of the music, which seem to be on the move...and converging on ADI Headquarters. As the month goes on, characters will find that the line between waking and sleeping begins to blur, and even those not formerly prone to sleepwalking or talking may find themselves doing both. Sleep-talking may lead to unexpected bouts of honesty with those who may not realize others are fully asleep on their feet.
➥ Till the Sun Is In the Sky
(cw: supernaturally-induced sleep/fatigue, thanatophobia, character death, death by poisoning, blood, choking, emetophobia, death by crushing)
Starting on October 25th, some characters will fail to wake up at all, becoming trapped in a series of shared nightmares in which they die again and again. Each time they die they will 'wake up' only to discover too late that they're still trapped in another nightmare when death comes for them yet again. Characters may share in one another's nightmares and witness one another's deaths. And, of course, you might actually wake up for a brief period - but it's so hard to tell whether it's real this time.
➥ When the Blazing Sun Is Gone
(cw: supernaturally-induced sleep/fatigue, thanatophobia, character death, body horror, detailed description of painful physical transformation, description of the loss and regrowth of teeth, violence, mental status alterations, temporary power-loss, spiders)
Even with people dropping left and right, ADI staff are hellbent on having and enjoying their Halloween Party - they've earned this! And on the 28th, in plenty of time for the holiday, the music stops and everyone finally wakes up. Investigations, party preparations, and the general hubbub of ADI life go on in the days leading up to Halloween itself.
Except, of course, the music never really stopped and the affected characters never really woke up. The party of their dreams is interrupted by the Lullaby Girl and all hell breaks loose as characters in monstrous costumes find themselves transforming painfully into real monsters that want nothing more than to hunt down and kill anyone they can get their claws and teeth on. Unchanged characters will find that their powers are gone, and that everything, even the decorations, is out to kill them.
➥ When He Nothing Shines Upon
(cw: supernaturally-induced fatigue/malaise, thanatophobia)
On Halloween itself, characters finally wake up and find that the Lullaby Girl has departed and taken her music away with her for real. Characters who died in the dreams will be physically unharmed, but will be very weak and ill for hours to days afterwards. But hey! All those decorations are still up, and those who want to brave a redo of the party in the waking world can do so.

→ For You Never Shut Your Eye:
BOY OH BOY FOLKS this one is gonna be a fun one for him. So tl;dr & spoilers, Jack thinks he has a condition called fatal familial insomnia, and believes he literally never sleeps. The lowkey secret reveal he hasn't gotten to yet is that this is incorrect, he actually has trauma induced parasomnia — it means that he only ever hits the lightest level of REM sleep, retains some awareness of his surroundings, and physically acts out his dreams. In truth, he sleeps far more than the average person! It's just hard for the people around him to tell.
But he is still dreaming, which means his mind's making shit up, which means ya boi gonna be having constant, persistent hallucinations. Let's get fucking weird. I'm down to have him hallucinate characters as other characters, talk to them like other people, attack them, see strange things about them (ie that they're hurt or something), just anything your mind can dream up.
→ Till the Sun Is In the Sky:
Ahahahaha this is gonna fuck with him mentally so bad. He already experiences paranoia, he already gaslights himself, going through repeated rounds of inception where people are murdered is going to send his crazy off the fucking rails. He'll seem uncomfortably, unsettlingly chill about the whole thing at first, but it will 10/10 devolve hard thanks to fading in and out of awareness because of the goings-on back home when he left. It's the going back and forth between reality and fiction that's ultimately going to wreck his mental state.
It might be cool to have him sharing some people's nightmares and then tuning back into the surface to freak out the people who are still awake & just seem like an absolute effing crazy person. Alternatively, maybe your character can cotton onto the fact that he's fluctuating and try to use him to send a message or dig up info or something.
It'll help that he's sort-of been through something like this before, except it was more eldritch and in a murder-mystery themed manor.
If you want your character to be dragged into Jack's nightmare, I can make them horrifying AF thanks to the stuff going on in his life. Trust.
→ When the Blazing Sun Is Gone:
This is super canon for him, so he'll actually be a fantastic ally to have in this. He'll sport a baseball bat, keep a cool head about monsters in a way he definitely didn't about the dream shit, and go super hard trying to help or rescue people that are being attacked. He's surprisingly good at stepping up and taking charge in situations like this.
→ When He Nothing Shines Upon:
Some hurt/comfort in the form of ya boi riding out the post-dream flu maybe. Super shaken from the mental fuckery, trying to bounce back & pretend like he wasn't just crazy as hell.
on another note if anyone's down I'd love to do some 3-way thread action with Jack's partner in crime Jerry, so if you're feeling that holla! it is bound to be a fucking riot for everyone involved.

I don't have any immediate ideas here so I may just tag around, have Harry encounter sleepwalkers/talkers rather than being directly induced himself.
→ Till the Sun Is In the Sky:
(cw: suicide, suicidal ideation)
Sooo dying in his dreams is nothing new for Harry because that is what most his dreams entail. He particularly dreams of suicide a lot and so anyone coming into his dreams will be exposed to that. Most commonly by hanging, but also by gunshot, alcohol poisoning, drug overdose... it can get dark is the lowdown.
I think it would also be fun to play out a scenario where him and another person keep "waking up" only to find out they're about to die again and getting exasperated with it. Think Groundhog Day and Bill Murray is just murdering himself over and over in new and exciting ways. Harry would absolutely get morbid about how many cool ways he can kill himself.
→ When the Blazing Sun Is Gone:
If anyone wants their characters to be murdered by a werewolf Harry who has turned into his worst monster, feel free to uh volunteer for that?? Maybe being stopped by someone eventually too if anyone wants to wrestle with him. Or we can have a real monster mash and have werewolf vs vampire battles.
→ When He Nothing Shines Upon:
(cw: alcoholism)
Harry is canonically an alcoholic and though he has been trying to recover since arriving, I'm going to use this whole experience to trigger a relapse. Thing is Harry is a really mean and horrible asshole when drunk, so this could be a great time for existing CR to see a different side of him, or new CR to have a bad time!

→ For You Never Shut Your Eye: It's a little early for him to go around spilling truths, but I'm all for him hearing some if anyone wants to jump start some CR that way! Otherwise, he'll be more interested in testing things to prevent the music around ADI rather than investigating for it.
→ Till the Sun Is In the Sky: Absolutely here for being stuck in Deathland. He's not typically bothered by death and sees it as a natural and necessary end to things, but this will be Too Much even by that standard. He's also somewhat recently had his own actual death and a few close calls that will likely reprise as Worst Cases in these nightmares. (Beholders, Death Tyrants, Iron Giants, petrification, and assassins to name a few)
→ When the Blazing Sun Is Gone: For this, I think I'm more interested in Chris not being a monster and simply being powerless, cause he's typically good at hand-to-hand combat and swinging his polearm around, but those only get so far in the face of monsters.
→ When He Nothing Shines Upon: Honestly, he probably won't be super involved in this unless roped into someone else's problem, cause Chris is the type to lick/bury his wounds and move on quietly. He'll be skipping party 2.0 though, thanks. Your 'halloween' seems weird.

→ What ADI Department(s) Does the Character Work In?: Security, also hangs around Counselling but does anyone even know if she actually works there,

→ For You Never Shut Your Eye:
Not much planned, investigating this is tricky and all she can do is try staying awake and poke others she finds dozing off. Bouts of honesty could be interesting, as much as she's not looking to share the fact that she's basically part of SWAT but Christian back home and used to all sorts of weird and gruesome things.
→ Till the Sun Is In the Sky:
(cw: graphic physical torture)
Ciel herself will mostly be fine, but this would be Not Pretty to anyone with the misfortune of stumbling into how her nightmares would process dying. She's canonically been killed over several hundred if not thousand different ways as a literal lab rat strapped to a table, death hurts and dying isn't amazing, would not recommend/10, but it absolutely no longer phases her. Examples include having eyes, brain, and all organs in the body removed while conscious, forced decay/rotting, having your blood boiled, etc - if it can be imagined and feasible, it can happen. Whether someone is witnessing her blank face going through it or want to take part in really creative ways of dying, we can work something out! Just. She'd appreciate no questions after of why her brain can come up with stuff like that please and thanks, nightmares aren't real after all, h-haha...
→ When the Blazing Sun Is Gone:
Because of pure dumb luck, Ciel is just going to put on the habit she arrived to Gloucester with (and stashed away since) and "pretend" to be a nun, that's her costume, it's recycling genius. Given that her job back home is hunt and kill superhuman monsters that threaten humanity, this will again just be Average Tuesday. Even stripped of powers, she has competent martial arts knowledge and is at ease with modern firearms, so she will very much be fighting. Open to teamups, rescue, maybe try chasing after the Lullaby Girl to put an end to this if a party can be assembled/she finds out that's the cause?
→ When He Nothing Shines Upon:
Will try to offer small talk and canteen party food, do whatever in her power to lift spirits exhausted as she may be. She'll still go to the party, she's an extrovert that doesn't stay down easy, but she'll probably end up falling asleep somewhere because she is prone to overdoing things. Nothing supernatural about this sleep at least, she's just Tired...

→ For You Never Shut Your Eye: So I probably won't have Jerry affected but I am super down for Jerry to come across sleepwalkers.
→ Till the Sun Is In the Sky: Dying over and over again is kinda old hat for Jerry, so I'm pretty sure he'd be more concerned about other people's nightmare hellscapes. In fact, I'd be down for him to be trapped in other's trauma towns and play hero because he isn't afraid of dying and will do stupid shit to save other people.
→ When the Blazing Sun Is Gone: Jerry is kind of a murder machine so team ups to kick some monster and decorative ass would be most welcome!
→ When He Nothing Shines Upon: He's all about trying to cope with bad shit by immediately ignoring it to do something fun and mostly get drunk so! Hell yeah party!

I was thinking she'd dress up as a "bone devil" but really she just gets some cheap horns, paints them white, and wears white facepaint. And then the transformation happens and she turns into this.

→ For You Never Shut Your Eye: Jeff actually WILL be trying to find the source of the music! Because, you know, he's a bard. This is up his alley, though it's more, uh... professional curiosity than anything else, I guess. He's used to blacking out and finding the lines between dreams and reality extremely blurry, so this is a familiar kind of awful for him, which means he MIGHT??? take it in stride (for Jeff, which means he's still a fucking disaster).
ANYWAY. Would love investigation buddies! And I'm 110% here for sleep-talking. I want Jeff to confess some of his messy secrets/thoughts/feelings/etc. (Also open to him being the conscious one in these interactions!)
→ Till the Sun Is In the Sky: Yes yes yes shared nightmares! I don't have any specific ideas just yet, but I'm up for this with new and old cr alike. Could be a fun way to meet new people or get closer to those he already knows!
→ When the Blazing Sun Is Gone: Jeff won't be dressed as anything monstrous, so he's going to be powerless and even more useless than usual! The boy can't fight at all. And he's going to be really pissed that a bunch of decorations he helped make are trying to kill him!!!
....anyway I'm cool with Jeff dying or getting maimed here.
→ When He Nothing Shines Upon: fuck yeah let's party

→ For You Never Shut Your Eye: Anti-music and sleep devices, you say? Who's ready to make their life miserable in service to not falling asleep?
→ Till the Sun Is In the Sky: Especially when it's so fresh in her mind, Marian's primary nightmares these will definitely be of the few hours before she arrived in this world: an ominous, cold and dark and snowy place of intense atmosphere, punctuated by brief moments of terror when some faceless thing as black at night comes out of the darkness at full speed -- and without the ability to flicker into another time point, that's game over, man. There are some gruesome possible deaths including getting turned inside-out by space-warping. Or just freezing to death on a small fragment of land in a sea of incomprehensible void. At least the former is over pretty quickly.
But I also wanna slide her into a variety of nightmares. Get the whole experience, you know?
→ When the Blazing Sun Is Gone: I can't picture Marian in a costume even in her wildest dreams, but ending up at the party unexpectedly and being a hapless bystander could be a go. She's no fighter but boy she can run. Distract monsters? Team up with another poor powerless soul and try to trap a monster somewhere?
→ When He Nothing Shines Upon:
Party redo? Absolutely not. She's going to be miserable for a while though, I think, with all those dream-deaths. Physical aftereffects aside, she's definitely not mentally prepared for direct confrontation with just that much death. :(

→ For You Never Shut Your Eye: I’ll probably pass on the sleepwalking portion of this, but I’m open to Stephen running into sleepwalkers and hearing their sudden bouts of honesty. Otherwise, he’ll mostly be investigating the source of the music, and/or seeing if any of the anti-music/sleep devices work.
→ Till the Sun Is In the Sky:
(cw: character death, car accidents, impalement, disintegration)
Super down for sharing nightmares with other characters! Dying is pretty old hat for Stephen at this point, even dying on a loop; that said, though he might weirdly take it all like a champ, it still isn’t a very fun time. Options include terrible car accidents, getting impaled a lot in a dream version of the Dark Dimension, disintegrating into nothingness, and other creative ways of dying. I’m pretty flexible and can cater to what others are looking for in this prompt.
→ When the Blazing Sun Is Gone:
(cw: character death, blood, general injury)
Stephen won’t be transforming into a monster, but that does mean he gets to be killed by a transformed Harry at the end of it all! However, I’m willing to let him get attacked and bloodied up a bit by anyone else feeling those same violent, monstrous tendencies. Being void of his magic will really hammer home the fact that he doesn’t want to find himself in a similar situation in the waking world — something that’ll cement his decision to not abstain from charging his magic batteries completely.
→ When He Nothing Shines Upon:
Since everyone’s going to feel like absolute garbage after this event, he’s probably going to make a PSA that, hey, go get checked out by medical to make sure everything is physically fine. He’ll be pushing himself a bit during this time period, feeling very weak, but he’s stubborn and that won’t be enough to stop him. Characters are welcome to call him out on this, or drop by medical for some extra CR building.

→ For You Never Shut Your Eye: Eric will help try to discover the source of the music, he might sleep-talk about his fears of moving to New York back in his world and what he wants to do as a career, and his worries about this world, hand missing his friends and family.
→ Till the Sun Is In the Sky: Eric will get trapped in a series of classic slasher films (if you've seen the official BEST episode of Boy Meets World, you know the one). He'll be chased by a mysterious figure with a Scream-esque mask, Jason, or Freddy Kreuger, and no matter what he does, he gets got by it every time. Pls save y/n?
→ When the Blazing Sun Is Gone: MONSTER ERIC TIME, I am beyond hype for this, give me all the monster ridiculousness. This is a chance for things to get painfully real for Eric if he manages to kill/main someone, so if anyone wants to get hunted, let me know!
As for what monster he gets, I'm torn between the classics of vampire/werewolf, swamp thing, gargoyle, demon (since his actor was one in the Disney classic H E Double Hockey Sticks and whose character was literally Eric as a demon). If anyone has any suggestions, let me know! I want it to be terrible!
→ When He Nothing Shines Upon:
Since Eric is a newbie this would be a great opportunity to have him freak out about the real consequences of what just happened and the reality of this world.
Other stuff: I'd also like Eric to figure out about his connection to The Lonely and accidentally feed on somebody, an NPC or a character.

Winter's used to working while exhausted to be honest. He'll keep up his usual routine. He definitely will get kind of fuzzy, though, and there will be some seeing of things and dozing off in weird places. Some frankly hilarious snuggling of his rifle. Possibly some slippage into Brooklyn accent or some unreasoning terror at nothing.
→ Till the Sun Is In the Sky:
Please let me do all the dream-sharing things with everyone. Please let me put all of the Winter Soldier's awful half-remembered nightmares on display. He will try to save people in theirs, too.
→ When the Blazing Sun Is Gone:
Winter Does Not Want To Go To A Party And You Can't Make Him. He has had his fill of social interaction, and the last time he was in a big room with a lot of people it was awful. So he will not be monstering. He will, however, go hunting the "monsters" in the hall of his workplace because that's what he does, okay. So if you want your monster character to get shot, or your non-monster character to get rescued, he's here for you.
→ When He Nothing Shines Upon:
No Parties. He'll help patch people up, though. And be very apologetic for the ones he shot while they were all asleep.

→ For You Never Shut Your Eye: Mercy will be out here, ready to play guinea pig for anyone who wants to experiment with ways to stop people sleeping. She wants to help! And she's not really an inventor, but if she can help this way... that seems like a good idea. She'll also be available for assisting with music investigations. As she's already pretty honest, she'll be better for hearing people's sleep-talking than handing it out, herself.
→ Till the Sun Is In the Sky: (cw: immolation/fire, death by gun shot, death by beating, death by stabbing, death by falling/suicide, death by poison, fantasy bigotry, gaslighting)
So, for as sweet as Mercy is, she has an exceptionally violent and death-filled backstory. She is adapted from a forum-based murder game. She personally witnessed or observed the results of various horrible deaths and those are the things that tend to haunt her nightmares. If you would like your character to experience burning to death in an archives set ablaze, falling from a tower, being beaten to death by a violent brute of a man, accidentally shooting yourself and dying from the wound, or ingesting poison... she's got you covered. There's also the potential to intertwine experiences with the Big Bad in her backstory and general fantasy bigotry related to her religion/heritage. While she tends to shrug off bigotry directed at her, it's something that does ultimately affect her. Especially when it's used to try to convince her she's being foolish or wrong about something she knows is right. I can also offer encounters with kelpies from the first event as she's absolutely petrified of them after her ordeals.
→ When the Blazing Sun Is Gone: I will be making Mercy a monster because nothing says Happy Halloween during her original's Holy Days like running around and murdering people you like. I'm thinking she'll be dressing up as a fox and end up turning into a were-fox as a result. She's got a lot of trauma tied to transformation from the selkie event, so why not layer that on?
→ When He Nothing Shines Upon: Mercy will be recovering from her malaise quickly, all the better to try to comfort those around her as a coping mechanism. It doesn't matter who you are, she will try to help you if she finds. You need food and water and have some medicine and WHAT ELSE DO YOU NEED? She will... not be attending the Halloween party. But she will be heading to a graveyard to try to belatedly observe her people's Holy Harvest rituals which mostly just involve having picnics at graveyards and chatting to markers while tidying up the graves.

→ For You Never Shut Your Eye:
I'm very interested in the sleepwalking and forced honesty part of this, though for sanity's sake will likely be limiting how many people hear Emily's genuine answers to things. That said, she'll also be very intent on keeping anyone's secrets that she ends up hearing, and try to get any sleepwalkers to actually lay down and rest so they don't end up hurting themselves too bad.
→ Till the Sun Is In the Sky:
For the nightmares, I plan to have Emily involved, and the horrors within will be a mix of ones she actually lived as well as imagined. Given how much I love dream events, I'll actually be writing custom encounters for anyone that wants to engage her on this, and I'll be tailoring the prompts to accommodate how much horror someone wants to experience, as well as avoiding any subjects they'd rather not touch on. That said, her dreams are fair game for graphic injury, body horror, gore, stalking, capture, supernatural terror and other options - she'll be quite tightlipped about this after the fact, and be very quick to blame things on the Entities in the world for her disturbed dreams.
→ When the Blazing Sun Is Gone:
I'm not certain what counts as "monstrous" for transformations, but should Emily be non-transformed, she's actually quite versed in getting out of places where everything wants to kill you, and will be taking on a rescue and field medic role at this time to go try and get others to safety! She'll be free to take the heat as well as help in more stealth oriented approaches, and would insist on getting absolutely everyone she could out.
→ When He Nothing Shines Upon:
While post the event she'll be very far from a party mood, she'll also be pushing herself extremely working at headquarters to aid and treat the dream illness and pain, as well as putting in extra hours to finetune and work on the anti-nightmare drug she's been researching for her own sake, and by November should have a decent prototype to start actually running trials on. Anyone that needs a checkup, or anyone in R&D who'd see her pulling later hours, is absolutely welcome.

She'll be willing to initiate the idea if you want to hit me up with interest but your character wouldn't.
→ Till the Sun Is In the Sky: I'd love to have her trapped with people and die together a lot. There's some opportunity to deal with her trauma a bit either through witnessing her dying in ways that trigger it (starvation, drowning, being eaten by sharks, etc.) or for her to talk about it. I'd love to have her open up to someone!
→ When the Blazing Sun Is Gone: So, Abby isn't super into parties except for the food and would probably come in some low-effort costume like fairie wings and a wand or something...only to turn into a nightmare horror fairie. Or a werecat if she wears cat ears and tail, or a zombie if she does crappy zombie makeup...so many ideas. Does anyone want to fight her, or fight with her, or something else?
→ When He Nothing Shines Upon: She'll have even less energy for an afterparty following nightmare-party, but she might put in an appearance, especially if someone asks. (Translated: Please someone ask her.)

→ For You Never Shut Your Eye: I've been playing this up pretty big already this month, but I'll gladly give a closed starter for this to anyone really interested.
→ Till the Sun Is In the Sky: I am definitely looking to dive into this. Meredith's got some fun nightmares to share, and I'd love to leap into other people's dreams.
→ When the Blazing Sun Is Gone: Meredith's showing up to the party dressed like an angel. And I sort of want to toss her a bone and give her some victories against the monsters--at least one of the ADI NPCs turned monster is going to get a cane to the face repeatedly. I've been letting her be turned into a victim a lot, and I want to represent both her training with Winter and her having people to hold on for properly here.
→ When He Nothing Shines Upon: Meredith will be one of the most vocal supporters of having a party to make up for the bad one. She'll also be exhausted and in pain and miserable, but morale is important, as is keeping up appearance, is it not?

→ For You Never Shut Your Eye: Jaeger doesn't sleep well in general, but he's willing to give it a try. He will occasionally nap in the ADI break room if he doesn't make it back to the Housing before curfew, and I could absolutely see him sleepwalking/sleep-talking during this part of the event. Fancy being mistaken for his estranged wife? It's an option. Or a Brighter Dawn Foundation coworker, for better or worse... He's got a lot of secrets stored up, and this is a good chance for a few of them to leak out.
Otherwise, Jaeger will do his best to comfort and guide sleepwalkers back to their beds, or at least someplace safer.
→ Till the Sun Is In the Sky: Jaeger will fall into a nightmare sleep for this. Plenty of death to go around, right? He's used to living life on the run in fear of assassins, so there's a lot of pretty awful ways to die and his subconscious is happy to provide, to say nothing of how close he's come to actual death in his past. When he does eventually wake up, he will probably have a hard time telling the difference between waking and dreaming for a while, leading to panic and disorientation.
→ When the Blazing Sun Is Gone: I'm tentative on this one. Jaeger will attend the party in costume to attempt to be "normal", but it will be a fairly innocuous costume and he probably won't turn into a monster. When things go bad, he'll do his best to protect himself and others, and I'm open to having him mauled up pretty badly in the course of things. Because that's just his luck.
→ When He Nothing Shines Upon: Jaeger will be sick for a while after waking up from his nightmare sleep, and I'm down for some hurt/comfort and possibly some further explanations of what everyone experienced while under the influence. Chances are good he will be afraid to sleep for a while, and he may be wandering around Housing doing his best to avoid dozing off. It might also lead to a visit to the Counseling/Health center at ADI, as I think this sort of represents a low point for him in regards to nightmares and trouble sleeping. It's been going on for a while, but this whole event is going to be a breaking point for him.

→ For You Never Shut Your Eye: truth be told, i'm here for the lowkey hilarious/creepy quality of one (1) sleepwalking wanda going about speaking/humming songs in sokovian, or altogether any blair witching at a wall situation. alternatively, petition for flophouse-wide attempt to get people to stay awake or help them to sleep through different attempts with varying degrees of success, such as experimenting on the caffeine-est of drinks or group counting sheep to try and knock out for ten more minutes, etc.
→ Till the Sun Is In the Sky: i'm into the idea of wanda's deaths being s revisiting of all the times she's metaphorically died — when losing a loved one. alternatively, i'm even more into the idea of nightmare hopping, too! bonding time.
→ When the Blazing Sun Is Gone: after her most recent halloween experience, wanda won't be dressing up. here for team-ups, though it should be said that wanda isn't exactly big on fighting when her magic is out of commission. so she'll likely wanna be with someone who can either a) help her get a weapon to hit monsters with or b) let her take cover. i'm also into the idea of hiding somewhere and having tense 'monsters in the hallway while we're hiding in the broom closet' moments.
→ When He Nothing Shines Upon:
admittedly she may just crash on a couch and wait for someone to go to the flophouse with. anyone's welcome to blow this joint and go get some late-night fast food with her.

- Talk with Malcolm Bright
I'm open to conversations with Kate appearing to be doing something but is sleep!walking. It could be hilarious.

→ When the Blazing Sun Is Gone 28-31 October: Kate is not going to transform. She is going to be a ballerina. I am open to someone/something kill herself at least once, maybe twice. Prior to that, she'll continue to help with party prep.
→ When He Nothing Shines Upon 31 October: Kate will try to pretend that she doesn't feel like mud and death warmed up. People are more than welcome to call her out on it, talk to her about it, etc.

→ For You Never Shut Your Eye: CW: Potential Gaslighting Steven's bizarre nature means that sometimes things don't affect him in a timely manner. Starting at this point, though, he'll be getting sleepy. However, he will dream lucidly, and have full mastery of his abilities in his dreams, which.... means eventually he'll start succumbing more willingly to sleep. This is also the point at which the sleepwalking/talking will start, so if you want to grill him for info, now's the time.
→ Till the Sun Is In the Sky: CW: Potential violence, death, blasphemy This is the point where it'll start to fuck with him. Any dreams he hosts will be based in the World of Darkness settings, which he has pretty in-depth knowledge of, but he may make appearances in other dreams. Guests to his dreams will be changed to conform; either made mundane, or into vampires or mages or werewolves or what have you. He will not have his abilities outside his own dreams, and they will not save him in them. The God Machine is coming....
→ When the Blazing Sun Is Gone: CW: Potential Possession, Death So... He's a college student. Steven's going low-effort. He's literally going as a sheet ghost, which will be ironic when things get too real. When he starts going transparent, he's going to realize this may still be a dream, and beg people for help, but eventually lose himself to the swing of things and basically start... IDK, how do ghosts kill? Poltergeisting, I guess? Possessing people is an option too... Plot with me!

→ For You Never Shut Your Eye:
Sleeping is weird for Aelwyn, considering she sort of... doesn't have to do it. But she does anyway because she has uhhh... sleep deprivation trauma that we'll get into in the next prompt. Regardless, this won't be fun for her. She might just wander into your apartment, shake you awake, and tell you there's a vault on the first floor and that that's where anything dangerous is being kept, or trying to barricade herself somehow by blocking all the doors and windows around her, or alternatively she might just sit down and start studying.
→ Till the Sun Is In the Sky:
Ooooooo boy. This one will be a doozy. One thing that will be consistent is that wherever Aelwyn goes, some shade of Kalina will follow. It's not actually Kalina at all, but a black tabaxi shaped person will be in the corner of Aelwyn's vision at all times, and will occasionally offer her snarky commentary to Aelwyn's bitter contempt.
But the deaths that you're most likely to witness in Aelwyn's dreams are as follows. Being on a ship with a celebrity when suddenly a storm hits and an unnatural bolt of lightning splits the boat in two and leaves everyone on board to drown. Being on a rooftop of a burning building with a girl who looks like a younger, much angrier, much less graceful version of Aelwyn, who is hellbent on beating either Aelwyn or whoever's guesting in her dreams to death. Or being trapped in a bubble and left to wither away while fancily dressed nobles come and tut at how sad it is. Or finally, just being killed by a thousands scratches from the Shadowcat herself, who will attack internal organs and cause internal bleeding all over your body.
Not fun.
→ When the Blazing Sun Is Gone:
So, on the one hand, I do kind of want Aelwyn to turn into a demon monster, but I think being utterly powerless in this situation would also be interesting. If she is costumed, she'll be a bone devil. If she's not, she'll just be desperately trying to final girl her way out of this one, lads. (She's not the final girl, she's the villain being final girled. Sorry Aelwyn.)
→ When He Nothing Shines Upon:
Aelwyn is going to think you are fucking insane if you try to do a halloween party. She will tell you to your face that you are fucking off your rocker. She will, however, suggest they all go back to somebody's apartment and get drunk and watch bad movies. Because in no way is she ever celebrating Halloween by wearing a costume after this, what the fuck is wrong with you people. Here for hurt/comfort on this one because this will be... definitely the most traumatic event for her yet. By like, a wide margin.

→ For You Never Shut Your Eye:
Thackery won't be keen to be experimented on, so he'll focus his efforts on roving around Gloucester in search of the source of the music. I'm open to him sharing secrets while sleepwalking, though he's a pretty open little exposition machine even normally, so it might be more interesting for him to learn someone else's secrets
and judge them.→ Till the Sun Is In the Sky: cw harm to a cat/death of a cat
Thackery has "died" enough times to be utterly unphased whenever he happens to suffer a violent "end" (canonically his reaction to being run over by a bus was to shake himself off and say "I hate it when that happens," then act surprised that anyone around him had been upset by it). He'll be fairly blasé about his own dream deaths, but will not be able to accept watching anyone else die without trying to save them. I don't have specific deaths planned for this prompt; his dreams might involve mundane misadventures that might befall a stray cat (likely the bulk of his real deaths over the centuries) or we could get weird with some deaths-by-magic as he dreams about the Sanderson sisters back from the grave and on a killing spree.
→ When the Blazing Sun Is Gone:
Thackery will be attending the (dream) party as a cute little bat-cat. If you would like your character to be the one who helped him/forced him into the costume let me know; if there aren't any takers I'll handwave that one of his NPC coworkers is responsible. This will, of course, end badly. He'll transform into a tiger-size gargoyle and do his best to murder absolutely everyone around him. Let me know if you want him to kill your character, or if you'd like your character to kill him (limit one thread for the latter). I'm planning to have him get killed; if there are no takers (or if you'd rather have your character witness his death instead of cause it) he can be killed by the decor.
→ When He Nothing Shines Upon:
Thackery would have been borderline on wanting to celebrate Halloween to begin with, and with him suffering the after-effects of dream death he will not be down for take two on the party. This last dream death will hit him harder than the others and leave him shaken.

Yelena will definitely be helping with the attempts to track down the source of the music, and I am here for exhausted tracking team-ups. As things go on, she'll start sleepwalking a bit - have a care when waking her up, because while she normally has pretty good control of her startle response, sleepwalking is weird. She won't be falling prone to somnambulism-induced honesty, but may respond with entertaining dream nonsense.
While she's willing to test out devices, she will absolutely not be participating in any of the more medical experiments, and may be concerned if any of her CR does, or if it comes up in conversation with...anyone, really.
→ Till the Sun Is In the Sky:
(cw: character death, violence, medical horror, violence by/against children, starvation, dehydration, captivity, suffocation, mind control)
Yelena's lived a pretty violent life, and between her own near misses and the number of people she's killed, there's a lot to choose from. For the purpose of threading out nightmares themselves, I'm going to offer a few flavours of more interactive trauma.
Captivity: Fancy being stuck alone in a damp, dark concrete box? Well, not quite alone, Yelena will be in the next cell over, but there's no one visible. This one's potentially escapable, but anyone who joins in this dream will get to go through accelerated effects of starvation and/or dehydration, so the window to escape is narrow.
Bad medicine: Comes in two versions: abdominal surgery and brain surgery, both without anaesthetic. It's possible to escape before the men in medical masks start taking pieces, but escapees will pass young women in operating theaters having the same inflicted on them on the way out, and be stalked through a nightmare medical facility.
On the run: Fancy being hunted through a variety of exciting new locales? There are a lot of ways to die in this one - stabbing, shooting, electrocution, strangulation, good old-fashioned beating. The would-be killers are all women and girls, ranging in age from mid-thirties down to six-year-old children. Yelena will always die in this one - if the characters make it to the end of the gauntlet, she'll abruptly stop breathing and suffocate. Your character can join her, in which case they'll hear a man's voice telling them to stop breathing and abruptly be unable to draw a single breath, or just bear witness. Fun, right?
→ When the Blazing Sun Is Gone:
Yelena isn't going to be dressing up as something monstrous - she'll be going as a knockoff Indiana Jones style adventurer, and so will be untransformed and fighting to keep herself and anyone in her survivor pod alive. She's going to straight up execute some poor ADI employee when they start turning into a beastman, if anyone wants to get to bear witness to that.
In the grand tradition of the morally-questionable pragmatic character never making it to the end of the horror movie, she's going to die sometime during the night. I'd love to have her go down playing bait for some monsters to give someone(s) else a chance to escape. I'm also up for threading out the monster-mauling, if you're playing someone who's transformed and are in search of a victim.
→ When He Nothing Shines Upon:
Yelena will not be in the mood for a second Hallowe'en party, but may drag her aching, exhausted self to the waking party because she absolutely does not trust that this isn't another fakeout. She'll be waiting for pepole to start transforming, or for some other variety of horrible murder to start, so if anyone wants to catch her being overtly paranoid, this is a good time.
She will want to check in on people she nightmare-shared with - I'm cool with handwaving that, or with handwaving nightmares and just doing the aftermath, or with playing both.
She's going to have (more) trouble sleeping for a while after this. Who's up for coffee runs?
