Welcome to Apocalypse How!
You've made it to Gloucester, and you're probably in one piece! Mostly... This is our OOC Intro post, a place for new players to introduce themselves, get to know one another's characters and find see who and what and when might click.

Introduction: Hello hello, I'm the current Callisto player bringing in a second Disaster Lady! My main hobbies/interests are languages/linguistics, reading, travel, and photography; my timeline is very shitposty and full of IRL minutiae. I've also fallen DEEP into Yellowjackets fandom (the show that Misty here is from) over the course of the past month or so. I generally keep my obsession to Tumblr because my Plurk timeline is mostly canonblind, but sometimes it breaches containment in the form of a .gif dump.
Availability: I'm in EST, and my optimal tagging times + tagging speed are all over the fuckin place.
Extra: I would love to keep TDM things game canon if people are up for it! I owe a few tags there still, which I do plan on hitting back.

Information: Misty is a bubbly self-styled #TeamMom whose desire for friendship and connection far outpaces both her social acuity and her moral compass. She's desperate, needy, overbearing, socially inappropriate, tribal, obsessive, and capable of a high degree of stealth ruthlessness. She suffers from a grave affliction of Too Many Feelings and has no idea how to handle them appropriately. You don’t want her to hate you, but you probably don’t want her to love you either, because she's a walking red flag dressed in mom jeans and a cat sweater.

Plotting: EVERY... THING... she's a really interesting mix of well-meaning (in that she genuinely does crave community and social ties) but also deeply alarming (in that she embodies a social toxicity and dysfunction that goes far, far beyond "oh she's just ~quirky and ~awkward"). I like having a good mix of CR, and am generally open to pretty much anything! Of particular interest to me is genuine mutual antagonism; complicated CR of the "I honestly do not know how I feel about this person, what the FUCK is her damage" variety; and throwing her at other offbeat, alarming people who have compatible red flags and who will connect with her because of her fucked-up-ness rather than in spite of it.
I also do want to note that I'm extremely open to people getting unspecified Bad Vibes around her, even if she's not doing anything overtly awful; this is basically canon for her and I will never consider it godmoding in this case, so always feel free to go for it if you want to.

Jeff's going through some ch-ch-ch-changes, so I can't make any specific plans just yet but since he's very sweet, and increasingly spooky, and is the absolute worst judge of character, I can see them potentially clicking like two peas in a fucked up pod.

Information: Luka is a friendly, good-hearted, absolute himbo of an ER doctor. He's actually a competent physician but when it comes to relationships and just everything else...*vague gestures into space* He tries not to be an idiot but it just sort of happens.
However, he also comes with brutal trauma especially due to war that will very easily come up since he doesn't mind talking about it, so please check the warnings in his app. He loves playing video games and will probably be lost for weeks when he finds out there's such thing as a PS5 (he comes from 2003 which is totally not almost 20 years ago alkdjflsdjf). He doesn't know how to play baseball or other American sports but he tries really hard. He has a lovely Croatian accent that you can see here in this video (sorry Carter) - Link He has recently just come back from a dangerous trip where he was helping rural clinics in the Congo (more warnings about that in his app).
Plotting: Anything and everything! He will be curious and trying his best to help. I definitely want to start him on a corruption arc eventually so I'd love to hash something out!

Introduction: I'm Kels and I've been in Fandom spaces and RPing in some way shape or form since I was about 13 with my gateway drug being Sailor Moon Play By Email games. I work at a print shop and am an obnoxious cat parent of one polydactyl princess, Audrey, and also I have my two god-cats of Matthew and Heath. Obviously The Witcher is one of my fandoms right now - I've never played the games but I'm working my way through the books. With S2 of Star Trek: Picard I am ~Back on my bullshit~ for being a trekkie. I'm playing Genshin Impact as my main game at the moment while I wait for Dragon Age 4 information, as well as a lot of assorted tabletop. I love horror movies and stories. I started listening to the Magnus Archives around when S1 was finishing and have done about five complete listens at this point. My other favorite fiction podcasts are Eos 10, The Bridge, and A Voice From Darkness.
Availability: I'm in GMT-8 (Pacific Standard Time) though since I work absurdly early morning hours I probably tag more in line with someone at least a few hours ahead of that. Since sometimes I tag from mobile I have a light preference for prose over brackets because I'm lazy and that's less formatting for me to have to type out.

Information: Nobility of some kind, Jaskier travels the continent as a wandering bard. He found his muse in the witcher, Geralt of Rivia, when he was a young man and his life was changed ever since. Loud, flirtatious, stupidly upbeat in spite of constant bitching on his part, most will find Jaskier either charming or annoying but definitely one or the other.
Plotting:Playing it by ear to start! Jaskier is in the fun position of the whole "yes malicious entities outside of our reality breaking through as they can to cause pain and suffering which they feed on" making perfect sense for him, but not knowing what a phone or a car or a toaster is. So he'll be likely focusing on adjusting to the culture shock there. He needs to get a lute.

Introduction: Hello hello! I'm LP and I'm 35 years old. I was here for a hot second with Cassandra Cillian when the game first opened and then had to drop because work took over my life for a while. Really excited to be back!
I work as a teacher and when I'm not desperately trying to finish a PhD in musicology, I somehow end up playing mostly from ye olde media of the 90s and 2000s like ER, Leverage, Psych and the Buffyverse.
Ok fandom boomer.I'm a big Noah Wyle fan so chances are you've seen me play one of his characters in another game, gotta admit I'm basic like thatI'm not that obsessed, I swear, I just really love his acting and the character types he tends to play.Outside of rp I'm into songwriting, languages, photography and video games, especially horror and action with a dash of Minecraft on the side. Sometimes I try to get better at chess, too, but I really do fail at the strategy part of it. It's not ideal??
Availability: I'm in GMT+1 and I'm usually around in the evening which is noon/early afternoon for most peeps. It can make things tricky, especially during the week when I'm working so I'm usually more active on the weekends. I tend to default to brackets in games but do a lot of PSLs in prose. I really have no preference there and can always match. o/
Extra: I'm good with keeping the TDM canon! However, I picked Carter from a slightly later canon point now than I used for the TDM. He's currently working in the Congo with Alliance Medicines de International. Which means he didn't come in all white coat-y from the hospital but in his field gear. Still working on icons from that time but he's basically a scruffboy rn and a little more grown up than before.

Information: Carter is a resident in the ER department of County General, Chicago. He's a very much heart-on-your-sleeve kind of guy and terrible at playing it cool. He wants to be cool. He is not. He's dedicated and compassionate with his patients but also extremely insecure, fallible and compensating for pretty much everything under the sun. His jealousy and pettiness are often used as a foil against other characters and he's often providing comic relief with streaks of clumsiness and bad luck. At his current canon point he's working with Alliance Medicines de International in the Republic of the Congo.
Oh, and his family is rich. Disgustingly 1%-I-guess-the-aristocracy-is-still-a-thing rich. Carter grew up as John Truman Carter III, born into a loaded family with several hundred million dollars of net worth. He's had a very sheltered but cold childhood with distant parents who shut him out emotionally after the death of his brother. Carter is uncomfortable with his wealthy background and usually tries to keep it a secret. His work as a doctor is also a constant point of contention between him and his family who see his job there as some kind of rebellious "phase" and want him to give it up to take over the family business instead. Carter has no interest in that, and at his current canon point he is very pointedly ignoring all attempts of the family lawyers to reach him in the Congo.

Plotting: Eager to throw him at anything tbh! He's going to work in the medical wing, naturally, but I'm stoked to have him in this setting and let him be more than just the doctor. Naturally, ER plays 90% in the hospital and while I'm always a sucker for Carter patching people up, I'm also looking forward to him exploring, surviving and growing with other tasks.
And, you know. Feeding and getting corrupted and maybe getting powers and all the terrible things.

Introduction: Hey, I'm Sora! I've been on the RP scene like... way too long, lets go with that. I transferred from LJ to Dreamwidth originally. I'm a big fan of Psychonauts, Brutal Legend, Spider-Man, Crash Bandicoot, anything a lil weird gets my attention. I'm an artist, writer (my AO3 name is sonicsora as it is here, lol), and general goof ball.

Information: Peter is very much Anxious Teenager! He's very much trying his best, and building a guilt complex the size of queens! I'm pretty sure everyone and their mother know Spider-Man's origins, so I'll spare you that.
I will state he's been pulled mid-movie, and is coming in injured. Along with wildly paranoid all of this is a trap.
Plotting: Currently, my biggest plans for Peter lay in him freaking the fuuuck out at the situation. Genuinely refusing to believe anything is real for a day or more, then coming down to the numb realization this is real. The fact Tony is here only kind of adds to that for him. I'm open to many and all ideas.
He's going to want to help people as much as he can around the ADI. While he freaks out over feeding any Entities.

I’m trying to watch a RIDICULOUSLY HUGE backlog of shows I lost track of (currently about to start s2 of The Magicians, still need to start A Discovery of Witches and eleventy billion other things).
My plurk is mostly RP babbling, plurk memes, and general work/life chatter, mostly contained in their own category plurks on my timeline.
I always answer discord messages whenever I see them even if it’s not immediate, so you can feel free to drop me things there any time even if it’s just a random stray thought you don’t wanna forget.
Availability: US/EST; Slow/sporadic schedule, typically available late afternoon/evenings, and always willing to boomerang on my days off.
Default to prose, will match brackets; mid-to-long tags; introspection & occasional silent tags w/o any kind of dialogue.
Threads do not have expiration dates, will backtag forever until complete/interest of all parties has dissipated + no problems handwaving/fading on threads if it makes someone's tag load lighter, either.

Information: Daughter of an heiress of old money and a world-renowned surgeon, Ainsley Whitly’s life was well-privileged and full of the best schools, and probably just about anything she might want.
She is an ambitious, fierce woman who will go to sometimes surprising lengths to get what she wants, and usually what she wants is the truth. She cares deeply for her brother and mother and has a complicated mess of emotions about the father she barely knows.
Being sheltered from the reality of her father’s status as a serial killer gave Ainsley a fierce drive to uncover mysteries and find the truth of situations that eventually led to her job as an investigative reporter.
Despite her always well put together appearances, there are some carefully hidden broken pieces of the serial killer’s daughter hidden behind a well-practiced mask of The Golden Child. A dark cloud may be lurking unseen behind the sunshine smile.
Plotting: Being brand new, I’m open to almost anything just to start trying to get her established. People who know her brother Malcolm Bright are a good jumping off point, but so are the people who genuinely want to dig into the mysteries and questions of the place.
I’d love to get her some genuine friends with some time, and though it is like the lowest-rung thought for Ainsley ICly, I’m open to (slow burn, organic) shipping if the chemistry is there.
She’s very much into investigating what the heck is going on here, thx. So def sign me up for metaplot shenanigans any-and-everywhere tbh.

Introduction: Hi! I'm Ali-chan and I am pretty much always the latest to memes, whoops. I love space, comics, disney, traveling, and running. :3 I am a science writer/editor by day and have been RPing for… a long time (I'm one of the people who moved to DW from LJ, back in the day). I'm currently into (if you haven't guessed) MCU and Marvel Comics, but I also love an eclectic mix of sci-fi, fantasy, and anime. Of course, asked to actually list them, I can barely think of a single thing that's not Marvel at the moment. /o\ The ones that immediately spring to mind are Percy Jackson, Mercedes Lackey's Valdemar series, His Dark Materials, and Motherland: Fort Salem. I am also currently reliving my Star Trek: The Next Generation glory days, if that counts? Non-fandom-wise, as mentioned above I run a lot, I have two cats, and I love coffee.
Availability: I'm a medium-ish tagger; I will tag things more quickly when I'm super-excited about them, but I do aim for steady even when I'm slow. I'm in the Central time zone and most reliably around on weekday evenings from about 8-11 P.M. or so, although sometimes I can tag during the workday, too. I'm always happy to prioritize threads if they're important, though! I tend to follow others' lead on prose/brackets, so either is just fine with me.
Extra: I… was too busy/lame to tag into the TDM and I kind of prefer to just jump into things anyway, so everything will be fresh! As a general note, I'm always happy to let people threadjack/fourth wall Steve, and am pretty happy to roll with any kinds of plots, just hit me up!

Does Character Have Powers/Cursed Items: Yupppp — he's got super strength, speed, senses, agility, and healing, all granted to him by the super soldier serum. Steve's also coming in with Mjolnir (although he's at least pr…obably the only one who can use it?) and the soul stone, but with the limits specified by the mods here.

Information: Steve is… kind of in a weird place right now. He's just managed to win a literal battle for the universe (with plenty of help, of course) and is now on his way to return the infinity stones the Avengers snatched from different points on their timeline to do it. He's lost some friends and is kind of thinking about not actually going back when all this is done. He's always willing to lend a hand where it's needed, though, which is exactly what he's going to see this situation as, once everything's explained to him.
Plotting: Nothing immediate? Steve's absolutely not going to love the fact that he needs to feed a horrible terrible entity for access to his powers, so he's going to try… avoiding the use of said powers. We'll see how well that goes. Being confronted with some of his canonmates here is also going to be fun, so basically I'm just happy to toss him into the immediate situation and see how he rolls.
