Welcome to Apocalypse How!
You've made it to Gloucester, and you're probably in one piece! Mostly... This is our OOC Intro post, a place for new players to introduce themselves, get to know one another's characters and find see who and what and when might click.

Introduction: Hello hello! I'm LP and I'm 35 years old. I was here for a hot second with Cassandra Cillian when the game first opened and then had to drop because work took over my life for a while. Really excited to be back!
I work as a teacher and when I'm not desperately trying to finish a PhD in musicology, I somehow end up playing mostly from ye olde media of the 90s and 2000s like ER, Leverage, Psych and the Buffyverse.
Ok fandom boomer.I'm a big Noah Wyle fan so chances are you've seen me play one of his characters in another game, gotta admit I'm basic like thatI'm not that obsessed, I swear, I just really love his acting and the character types he tends to play.Outside of rp I'm into songwriting, languages, photography and video games, especially horror and action with a dash of Minecraft on the side. Sometimes I try to get better at chess, too, but I really do fail at the strategy part of it. It's not ideal??
Availability: I'm in GMT+1 and I'm usually around in the evening which is noon/early afternoon for most peeps. It can make things tricky, especially during the week when I'm working so I'm usually more active on the weekends. I tend to default to brackets in games but do a lot of PSLs in prose. I really have no preference there and can always match. o/
Extra: I'm good with keeping the TDM canon! However, I picked Carter from a slightly later canon point now than I used for the TDM. He's currently working in the Congo with Alliance Medicines de International. Which means he didn't come in all white coat-y from the hospital but in his field gear. Still working on icons from that time but he's basically a scruffboy rn and a little more grown up than before.

Information: Carter is a resident in the ER department of County General, Chicago. He's a very much heart-on-your-sleeve kind of guy and terrible at playing it cool. He wants to be cool. He is not. He's dedicated and compassionate with his patients but also extremely insecure, fallible and compensating for pretty much everything under the sun. His jealousy and pettiness are often used as a foil against other characters and he's often providing comic relief with streaks of clumsiness and bad luck. At his current canon point he's working with Alliance Medicines de International in the Republic of the Congo.
Oh, and his family is rich. Disgustingly 1%-I-guess-the-aristocracy-is-still-a-thing rich. Carter grew up as John Truman Carter III, born into a loaded family with several hundred million dollars of net worth. He's had a very sheltered but cold childhood with distant parents who shut him out emotionally after the death of his brother. Carter is uncomfortable with his wealthy background and usually tries to keep it a secret. His work as a doctor is also a constant point of contention between him and his family who see his job there as some kind of rebellious "phase" and want him to give it up to take over the family business instead. Carter has no interest in that, and at his current canon point he is very pointedly ignoring all attempts of the family lawyers to reach him in the Congo.

Plotting: Eager to throw him at anything tbh! He's going to work in the medical wing, naturally, but I'm stoked to have him in this setting and let him be more than just the doctor. Naturally, ER plays 90% in the hospital and while I'm always a sucker for Carter patching people up, I'm also looking forward to him exploring, surviving and growing with other tasks.
And, you know. Feeding and getting corrupted and maybe getting powers and all the terrible things.
